Texting and Driving, It’s Impossible.
Teens are experts at texting, but they don’t pay attention to other things when they do. They can manage texting their friends in class and at dinner with out anybody noticing. Click it or tick it was a law passed that has saved many, many lives. This law makes people buckle up when driving or they will get fined. We all know that buckles do save lives. If we can help teens understand that texting kills, perhaps they will stop.
Teens might feel like we are attacking them by banning texting while they are driving. No one should text while driving. We should ban every one from doing it. We need to lead by example. If parents and other adults don’t text while they are driving then teenagers could start understanding more. If this law is passed there must also be promotions to make people aware that it is there.
Texting is a major distraction. When u look at a small screen all your focus goes from the rode to that. You can’t see what you are doing on the rode. This effects every one. It’s just like driving drunk. Driving drunk is considered driving while you are impaired. If you can’t focus on the rode because of your phone you are driving impaired. Drunk drivers also swerve all over the rode and miss things going on. Their sense are dulled. When texting all your senses aren’t on the rode and you could not see a car coming or forget to check something.
A plan to stop texting and driving must be made. Things can be done and changed to help. There should be posters, commercials, pledges, apparel, etc. Teenagers love to have the newest hottest things out there. If we make this big and great it could prevent more deaths. Parents must step in. If they are in the car and know their child could text or might be tempted to text they should take the phone till the ride is over. This could get teens in the habit of not being able to txt when driving and when they are alone they wont need to. We also need to prevent texting before a person even gets their license. If they are in driving school The instructor should tell stories about people who have died. If the last text you ever received was, “wasup” Would you be upset that you had to die over it?
Teens are experts at texting, but they don’t pay attention to other things when they do. There must be and end to the deaths that didn’t need to, and shouldn’t have
happened. So many have already died just because some one had to respond to, “lol” or “wazup.” The law to prevent all texting and driving should be passes nation wide. People need to know the dangers of typing on a small keypad. All that has to be done is a text BEFORE you start driving that says “ hey gtg driving ttyl” The receiver will understand. Driving fully alert with out distractions will lead to less street and high way deaths each year.
